MMI exists because the barrier was never talent — it was exposure. Free, bilingual paths into engineering, science Olympiads, research competitions, and the university opportunities most MENA students never hear about until it's too late to enter.
MENA youth aren't short on ambition — global surveys consistently rank the region among the highest in the world for entrepreneurial intent and drive. What's missing isn't potential, it's exposure. Students in systems built to find and train talent early — Olympiad pipelines that start in primary school, research programs advertised in every classroom — grow up assuming they belong on a global stage. Most MENA students first realize "I could have done that" in their final year of school, once it's too late to start.
MMI exists to close that gap. It started as a bilingual engineering resource, and that's still where the Vault runs deepest today — but the mission was never just engineering. It's making sure every capable student in the region knows the full landscape of what's actually open to them: competitions, Olympiads, research opportunities, and universities most never hear about until years too late.
We're not a company and we don't sell anything — everything on this site is free, in both Arabic and English, and the board that runs it is entirely student-led.

Before the Vault's build guides make sense, a few core ideas need to click. Here's the short version of each — no prior electronics or coding background assumed.
A microcontroller is a tiny, cheap computer built to do one job: read inputs (like a button or sensor) and control outputs (like a light or motor) based on code you write. It's the "brain" behind almost every hardware project in this Vault.
The Arduino Uno is the most common beginner microcontroller board in the world — cheap, well-documented, and used in the vast majority of student engineering projects. You'll write code for it in the free Arduino IDE and upload it over a USB cable.
A sensor converts something physical — distance, temperature, light, motion — into an electrical signal a microcontroller can read. Every blueprint in the Vault centers on wiring and reading from one or more sensors.
A breadboard is a reusable board for building circuits without soldering — you plug components and wires into it directly. It's how every build in this Vault is prototyped before anything is made permanent.
Every resource in the Vault answers one question: after reading this, what can you actually go and do? No theory summaries, no textbook notes — full walkthroughs with parts lists, worked examples, and clear next steps, in both English and Arabic. Organized into branches; two are live today, five more are on the roadmap.

Each board member owns a core function of MMI, has the autonomy to improve it, and works closely with the rest of the board to shape the organization's growth. As MMI expands, board members will recruit, mentor, and lead volunteers or interns within their area — building teams that multiply MMI's impact across the region.
Owns MMI's educational resource ecosystem — researching opportunities and programs, maintaining the Regional Pipeline Index, and keeping every resource accurate and current.
MMI's final technical quality check — verifies engineering accuracy and technical Arabic terminology on every blueprint before it publishes.
Owns MMI's public presence — social media, partnerships, and outreach to schools and STEM communities across the region.
